Cooking Dried Tofu
1.) DRIED TOFU WITH CELERY
5 pieces dried tofu
1 celery
Seasoning: salt or soysauce, sesame oil
Procedure:
Heat 1T oil, fry tofu, add seasoning. Then add celery and mix well.
2.) DRIED TOFU WITH SMALL FISH – Same procedure except it has wine and sugar.
Instant Shabu-Shabu
Today I was craving for shabu-shabu but my friend was busy so we can’t go out on our usual weekend plan. I decided to make one myself. Here’s the outcome.
Luckily, in Taiwan we can buy freshly cook ingredients like tofu, taro, and even fresh instant noodles.
What I did was boil some water, then add all the ingredients. Let it boil again, then just drop some vege (any greens) that’s it! It’s good for 2 persons and it’s economical too!
Here’s the ingredients:
Grilled Prawns
Vietnamese Cooking
Ingredients:
1 small onion, minced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon peanut oil
1 pound jumbo shrimp or king prawns
1 teaspoon sea salt
1 teasponn freshly ground black pepper
2 lime juice
1 tablespoon peanut butter
Procedure:
Mix the onion and garlic with peanut oi. Add prawns and toss to coat. Leave to marinate for at least three hours or overnight. Grill the prawns or broil them fo about 5 minutes, turning once. Whisk together the remaining ingredients to make the sauce and pour it into a small sauce bowl, placed at the center of the platter of prawns.
Greenbeans with Fish Flakes
300 grams green beans
1 T olive oil (or sesame oil)
3 cloves garlic, minced
5 T dry fish flakes
salt and pepper to taste
Procedure:
- Boil water and add 1 t salt.
- Add green beans and cook until tender-crisp, about 3-4 minutes. Remove beans and drain.
- Heat oil, add garlic until fragrant. Add beans, salt and pepper.
- Place in the platter, sprinkle with fish flakes. Serve.
Marinated Fish
boneless milkfish
soysauce
vinegar
garlic, minced
pepper
Procedure:
Combine all the ingredients. Marinate for 3 hours or overnight.
Heat oil, fried until cook.
Tofu and Vegetable Soup
tofu
few shrimps
any vegetables
ginger
salt and pepper to taste
Procedure:
Saute’ ginger then shrimp or prawns, then fofu
Add salt and pepper to taste, then add water
After boiling, add rest of the vegetables
Cover and simmer for few minutes.
